Situated close to Wat Kudidao, Wat Samana Kottharam underwent a significant restoration under the patronage of Chao Phraya Kosa (Lek) and Phraya Kosa (Pan) during the reign of King Narai the Great. The central feature of this temple is a remarkable prang, designed in a manner reminiscent of Chedi Chet Yot in Chiang Mai. The prang stands out with doors on all four sides and is topped with a distinctive wooden gable roof.

Inside the ubosot, the main attraction is the revered Buddha image known as 'Phra Si Samanagot Bophit.' This intricately crafted sandstone masterpiece, dating back to the early period of the Kingdom of Ayutthaya, portrays the Buddha in the Bhumisparsa Mudra. Furthermore, Wat Samana Kottharam is home to a notably large stupa, showcasing a unique style believed to be inspired by the Seven-Spires Temple in Chiang Mai. The temple serves as a testament to the rich history and diverse architectural influences of Ayutthaya.

3

Wat Kudi Dao, located in Ayutthaya, is a captivating temple that bears historical significance and architectural charm. Originally constructed during the Ayutthaya Kingdom, the temple underwent renovations and enhancements over the years, showcasing a blend of cultural influences.

One of the notable features of Wat Kudi Dao is its elegantly designed ubosot, a main hall used for Buddhist ceremonies. The temple's architecture reflects the classical Ayutthaya style, characterized by intricate details and ornate decorations. The surrounding grounds of the temple are often adorned with sculptures and religious artifacts, adding to the visual appeal.

One of the highlights of Wat Kudi Dao is its serene atmosphere, offering visitors a tranquil space for contemplation and appreciation of Thai religious and architectural heritage.

4

Visit Wat Dusitharam situated in the northeastern area of the Hantra sub-district, beyond the city island in Ayutthaya, Wat Dusittharam is a tranquil monastery located on the western bank of Khlong Ayodhya. The name "Dusittharam" originates from the Sanskrit word "Tush," symbolizing contentment and the fulfillment of desires.

The monastery encompasses a substantial area, divided into an old and a new section. The old segment boasts a significant chedi, a vihara, and an ordination hall or ubosot, showcasing the temple's historical charm. On the other hand, the modern part features contemporary monastic buildings, illustrating the evolving landscape of Wat Dusittharam. Serving as a testament to the enduring spiritual legacy of Ayutthaya, the temple invites visitors to delve into its rich history and enjoy the serenity of its surroundings.

5

Located just outside the eastern end of the ancient city of Ayutthaya, Wat Maheyong, a Buddhist monastery, remains in a state of ruins despite undergoing multiple restoration efforts throughout its history. Constructed in the 15th century, it was likely designed as a meditation center, and its red brick walls are still visible from a distance. Designated as a national historical site by Thailand's "Fine Arts Department," the monastery's ordination hall (ubosot) serves as a venue for religious ceremonies, with Buddhist monks actively encouraged to officiate during auspicious periods.

6

After the tour, relax and unwind with post-tour soft drinks, Ayutthaya-style Thai food, and a delightful local lunch.

7

As the tour comes to an end you will go back to the ATV place and bid your farewell to your guide. Next, we will send you back to your hotel in a traditional tuk-tuk.
