The Maeklong Railway Market, also known as the "Talat Rom Hup" in Thai, which translates to the "umbrella pull-down market," stands as one of Thailand's most extensive fresh seafood markets. Situated along the Maeklong Railway track, the market showcases a unique spectacle where its awnings and shop fronts are swiftly retracted from the rails whenever a train approaches, only to be promptly restored once the train has cleared the area.
Damnoensaduak, a district in Rajburi Province, is densely populated along its canal. The majority are farmers growing various fruits and vegetables thanks to the fertile land. The canal not only aids transportation but also provides water for farming year-round. Local farmers have dug over 200 small canals to irrigate their lands and facilitate transportation to neighboring markets.
The Floating Market, bustling from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. daily, sees hundreds of vendors and buyers exchanging goods from their small rowing boats. The market specializes in locally grown food, fruits, and vegetables.
After the tour comes to end we will drop you back to location we picked you up from.
