About this experience

Enjoy a day trip to ancient city of Pompeii and Vesuvius Nation Park with an expert local guide. Go back in time to the 1st century AD and discover the most important archaeological park in Italy, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1997. See the impressive ruins of the Roman city, which has been frozen since Mount Vesuvius erupted in AD 79, and you learn about everyday life in ancient Rome. Led by a professional guide with an art and archaeology background you will explore the highlights of Pompeii, including the Forum, the Bath-House, the houses, the spa and amphitheatre. After a small break for lunch in authentic local wine farm (expense included) your private driver will take you to the Vesuvius Volcano where you will learn more about the dramatic eruption while walking along the crater.

Please note: we will spend around 2 hours in the Pompeii National Park and 1 hour and 30 minutes in the Vesuvius National Park. The rest of the time is allotted for transportation and lunch break.

Stop 1

Pompeii was the Ancient Roman City destroyed and covered by the ashes of the Vesuvius Volcano in 79 AD. Today it is one of the most visited tourist attractions in Italy with the UNESCO-listed ruins. In the company of a professional tour guide you will learn about the history of this place and its ancient citizens. You will visit the well-preserved historic monuments such as theatres, thermal baths, the Forum, ancient restaurants and stores, beautiful villas and much more.

Stop 2

After a tasty break for lunch in family-owned wine farm you will visit the Vesuvius National Park and learn more about the eruption which destroyed ancient city of Pompeii. You will arrive to an altitude of 1000 mt. with a private vehicle and then continue to walk along the path that leads up to the crater. You will be amazed by the breath-taking views of the Gulf of Naples, Capri, Ischia and the edge of the Sorrento coast. A great experience full of moments to remember.
