Jaipur is the capital and largest city of the Indian state of Rajasthan. Famously known as the "Pink City" due to the distinctive colour of its buildings in the Old city. Founded in 1727 by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II. It was India's first planned city notable for its unique urban from and grid-based planning.
