Detailed itinerary

1
Stop 1

Kehen Temple is an ancient Hindu temple complex that has unique architectural features. The temple courtyard is reachable from the roadside and up 38 flights of stairs. Carved sandstone statues depicting mythical animals and Balinese folklore figures adorn the staircases and the central vestibule. The temple’s walls are also ornate with porcelain plates, harking back to the historical relationship between the local Balinese kingdom and China.

Stop 2

Penglipuran village is a beautiful highland village in the regency of Bangli in East Bali, best known for its well-preserved layout and culture. While most of its residents have embraced modernity, its individual compounds are well-kept to look traditional. Manicured gardens line the single stone-paved street that runs through the centre of the village toward the local temple, and age-old arched entrance gates and walls conceal each house.

** Includes approximate drive time

3

The bamboo forest in the Penglipuran Traditional Village has an area of tens of hectares. In this forest, fourteen types of bamboo grow. When you enter the forest area, you will see an information board that lists the bamboo that grows in the forest. There are also endemic bamboo species native to Bali.

In the bamboo forest, you can enjoy the cool breeze and the musical sound of the leaves. The wind makes tree trunks rub against each other so that they make sounds like an irregular musical ensemble.
