What you'll see

Day 1: Urmuqi - Turpan - Kashgar(L, D)

After early morning pickup at your Urumqi hotel's lobby, travel with your tour guide to Urumqi Train Station. Catch a bullet train and gaze out of the window as you pass spectacular scenery on the 2-hour journey to Turpan. Your professional tour guide will give you an explication of the Silk Road and the related Chinese history and culture on the way. Feel free to discuss with your tour guide on which attractions you are interested, choose 2 attractions in Turpan.

After your sightseeing, your tour guide will drop you off at Turpan Airport for your late evening flight to Kashgar, your driver in Kashgar will pick you up from the airport and take you to your hotel in Kashgar (Please book your own hotel)

Day 2: Kashgar - Urmuqi (L)

Meet your guide at 10:00am and start to explore the 2000-year-old ancient city which full of customs, stories and homes. You will gets the sense of what this legendary Central Asian hub was like in the days when the Silk Road was at its zenith. 

Then continue to the Id Kah Mosque which is typical of Uygur Islamic architecture. Being one of the largest mosques in China, it can accommodate up to 20,000 people for religious holidays or the Friday prayers. The mosque is busy and its vast esplanade serves as a meeting place.

Stop at a local restaurant for an authentic local Lunch. Then you explore the famous Apakh Hoja Tomb which is the holiest place in Xinjiang for the Muslims, and an architectural treasure. The site is also known as the Xiang Fei (Fragrant Concubine) Tomb in memory of Abakh Khoja’s granddaughter, Iparhan, who was the Fragrant Concubine of Emperor Qianlong of Qing Dynasty.  

Your guide will drop you off at Kashgar Airport for your evening flight back to Urumqi. Your driver in Urumqi will pick you up and transfer you back to your hotel in Urumqi.
