We offer two packages for this one-day private tour from Zhengzhou, both excluding entrance tickets to Shaolin Temple and Longmen Grottoes—you can purchase tickets on-site at your convenience. Lunch is also not included in either package and is available for on-site purchase. Package 1 includes only private transportation service, while Package 2 includes both private transportation and a professional English-speaking guide.
In the morning, depending on your chosen package, either your private driver (Package 1) or your private driver and professional English-speaking guide (Package 2) will pick you up promptly from your Zhengzhou hotel. You will then board a private air-conditioned vehicle for an approximately 1.5-hour drive to Shaolin Temple, a site with over 1,500 years of history as the birthplace of Chinese kung fu and the cradle of Zen Buddhism.
Upon arrival at Shaolin Temple, if you have chosen Package 1 (Transportation Only), your driver will assist you in purchasing entrance tickets and then wait for you in the parking lot while you explore the site independently.
Shaolin Temple features 3 main areas for you to visit at your own pace: the thrilling kung fu performance venue, the ancient temple complex (with halls adorned with vivid murals and sacred artifacts), and China’s largest pagoda forest (with over 240 stone pagodas, the final resting places of eminent Shaolin monks).
If you have chosen Package 2 (Transportation+Guide), your guide will arrange your visit in a seamless order, first taking you to the kung fu performance to witness breathtaking authentic martial arts, then leading you through the temple complex to explore its halls and cultural relics, and finally guiding you through the pagoda forest to share in-depth stories and historical insights.
In the afternoon, your private driver (accompanied by your guide if you chose Package 2) will take you on a 1-hour private drive to Longmen Grottoes, a spectacular UNESCO World Heritage Site with over 1,400 years of history and exquisite ancient Buddhist stone carvings.
Upon arrival, Package 1 travelers will have their driver assist with on-site ticket purchase before the driver waits in the parking lot for independent exploration, allowing you to admire thousands of statues embedded in the steep limestone cliffs along the scenic Yi River path at your leisure. Package 2 travelers will be guided by their professional guide, who will lead you along the path, focus on iconic sites like Fengxian Temple and share stories of its construction, craftsmanship, religious significance, and the evolution of ancient stone carving art.

Shaolin Temple is the birthplace of Chinese Zen Buddhism and Shaolin Martial Arts. The whole complex can be thought of as three major sights within the compound.
Area 1--The Kung Fu Performance
After you enter the complex, you will see the Kung Fu performance hall. If you arrive early in the morning, you’ll see students of all ages practicing outside. The Kung Fu performance amazing and is not to be missed.
Area 2--Shaolin Temple
Shaolin Temple embraces many exciting attractions, such as the Hall of Heavenly Kings, the Mahavira Hall , the Pagoda Forest, the Dharma Cave and the Martial Art Training Center.
Area 3--The Pagoda Forest
The Pagoda Forest is another half-kilometer walk through a wooded path, It is a concentration of tomb pagodas for eminent monks and abbots of the temple. A rough count shows more than 240 tomb pagodas of various sizes from the Tang, Song, Jin, Yuan, Ming and Qing dynasties (618-1911), making it the biggest pagoda forest in China.
