About this experience

Gobustan & Absheron Trip is the best offer to know about our country. In a few hours, you will go back to the thousands of years and then see the first drilled oil well which is from the 19th century. Great chance to see mud volcanoes and Azerbaijan is number 1 country amongst other countries in the world. After the lunch break at 50 coins restaurant which offers us a lot of options to eat delicious Azerbaijani meals and drink fizzy or natural drinks. Our tour is going to finish with 2 interesting places like Fire Temple which used by Hindu & Persians during 15 - 19th centuries and obviously Burning Hill area where the flame all 365 days are active. Stop 1

State Historical-Artistic Reserve Gobustan is a unique monument of world importance and in the year 2007 has been included to the UNESCO World Heritage List. There is an area of 537 hectares of concentrated testimonies of the inhabitants of the region of the Stone Age era and subsequent periods with rock paintings, the human lot, tombstones, etc.

Gobustan National Park: The archaeological side of Gobustan is very in with monuments. The reserve has more than 6,000 rock engravings dating back between 5,000 – 40,000 years. Visitors also view the remains of inhabited caves.

Ateshgah Temple – The temple of fire worshippers Ateshgah is located at the Apsheron peninsula at the outskirts of Surakhani village in 30 km from the center of Baku and was revered in different times by Zoroastrians, Hindus, and Sikhs. This territory is known for such unique natural phenomenon as burning natural gas outlets (underground gas coming onto surface contacts oxygen and lights up). The temple in its present state was constructed in the 17th-18th centuries. It was built by the Baku-based Hindu community related to Sikhs. The pentagonal complex has an open courtyard with temple-altar in the center which was the place of pilgrimage for worshippers.

Yanardag – One of the most famous and popular tourist places of the “eternal flame” in Azerbaijan is the mountain of Yanar Dag. Actually, it is rather a hill than a mountain, with natural gas burning on its slope from ancient times. Meter-long tongues of fire are licking the stratified earth approximately for 10 m in width, searing those who approached too close. People occupy the benches to watch the blazing hill in the evening when its sight is most effective. Yanar Dag has located 25 km to the north from Baku. From the year 2007 Yanar Dag is declared a state-protected conservation area.
