Your guide will share stories about the gorge’s cultural importance, rare wildlife such as the Cretan wild goat (kri-kri), and the reason this national park has become a UNESCO-protected reserve. With plenty of time for photos and reflection, this stop offers the perfect way to experience the majesty of Samaria without the strenuous hike.

Next, immerse yourself in a peaceful paradise of nature. Spread across 20 hectares, the Botanical Park is a vibrant showcase of Crete’s biodiversity. Walk along shaded paths lined with fruit trees, medicinal herbs, vineyards, and tropical plants from around the world. Discover how local plants have been used for cooking and healing for centuries, and spot peacocks, butterflies, and other small wildlife that inhabit the gardens. A leisurely walk of 1.5–2 hours allows you to explore at your own pace while enjoying the tranquility of the landscape.
