Samaria Gorge National Park – Panoramic Viewpoint (09:45–10:45).

Begin your journey with a scenic drive into the White Mountains and a stop at the famous viewpoint overlooking the Samaria Gorge. Here you’ll enjoy sweeping views across one of Europe’s longest and most legendary gorges, stretching over 16 km. Your guide will share stories about the gorge’s cultural importance, rare wildlife such as the Cretan wild goat (kri-kri), and the reason this national park has become a UNESCO-protected reserve. With plenty of time for photos and reflection, this stop offers the perfect way to experience the majesty of Samaria without the strenuous hike.

Botanical Park and Gardens of Crete (11:00–13:30).

Next, immerse yourself in a peaceful paradise of nature. Spread across 20 hectares, the Botanical Park is a vibrant showcase of Crete’s biodiversity. Walk along shaded paths lined with fruit trees, medicinal herbs, vineyards, and tropical plants from around the world. Discover how local plants have been used for cooking and healing for centuries, and spot peacocks, butterflies, and other small wildlife that inhabit the gardens. A leisurely walk of 1.5–2 hours allows you to explore at your own pace while enjoying the tranquility of the landscape.
