Pick up at accommodation in Cape Town will be at 8:00am. You will receive a private transfer from your hotel in Cape Town to the Silo District where you will be escorted to the Nelson Mandela Gateway to Robben Island Jetty.
Here you will charter a shared boat trip to Robben Island museum where you will be met by a private tour guide/driver in a private vehicle based on the size of your group. You will receive a guided tour in the vehicle with some time to explore the island on foot.
Thereafter, the guide will introduce you to a resident resident ex-political prisoner Tour Guide who will give you the tour of the prison itself. Take a look inside Nelson Mandela's cell and learn more about his life on the island.
Before you return to Cape Town via the shared boat trip, we invite you to take The Long Walk to Freedom in the footsteps of Nelson Mandela at the end of the tour.
We set sail back to Cape Town and upon our arrival back at the Jetty, our Tour Guide/Driver will meet you at the entrance of the Nelson Mandela Gateway to Robben Island for your return transfer back to your hotel.
Upon pick up on the day of the tour we will issue travelers with an official admission ticket for the tour.
Please remember to bring along your passport (copies accepted) for verification by Robben Island authorities on the day. Please remember to provide us with the full names and dates of birth for each participant when booking this tour. Without these details, we cannot allocate your official admission ticket.
All bookings are non-refundable as Robben Island does not accept cancellations for refunds. In the event that Robben Island cancels the boat trip due to unfavorable weather conditions, the entire booking will be canceled for a full refund.
