Your local guides are home gardeners sharing their passion for plants, and eager to share a wealth of information on their hometown.
We will begin and end in Dock Square and walk approximately 2 miles over 1.5 to 2 hours on flat terrain. There are benches to sit for a spell along the route and a little garden gift for all as we finish.
This tour is entirely outside and we will seek shade during hot days wherever possible.
We will walk by notable homes dating back to 1789 and the early 1800's, sharing stories of former residents, pointing out a colonial "kitchen garden" and trees planted after the Dutch Elm disease wiped out the elms.
We will finish with a visit to "Ganny's Garden" fashioned after a needlepoint carpet created by the late First Lady, Barbara Bush and dedicated to her as a surprise by her family and friends.
This tour begins in front of the benches at 2 Ocean Avenue (Dock Square) in Kennebunkport where our guide will be standing near the large plant pots that house our logo.
