Spend 1 to 1.5 hours wandering the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Hue Citadel, where you’ll get an up close look at the former Imperial Palace. Your guide will take you through the hallways, temples and tombs that were modeled after Beijing’s Forbidden City. Your knowledgeable guide will share insights and information about the striking complex, which was once a part of the Nguyen Empire. Damaged during the Tet Offensive and bombed by international troops, the once regal structure is today in mostly ruins. Learn about local efforts to restore this Vietnamese icon to its original splendor on your tour.

Enjoy a traditional lunch at a local restaurant before touring the Emperor’s residence, located just outside of Hue. Two of the most famous Royal Tombs—Tu Doc Tomb and Khai Dinh Tomb—are located here.
