What you'll see

After the hotel pickups, head straight for the coastline. Pass by affluent suburbs with some of the best beaches close to the city, and you will stop for photos at Maidens Cove in Camps Bay. Drive on towards Hout Bay, seated in between gigantic mountains and the Atlantic Ocean. There, enjoy an optional, scenic 45-minute return boat cruise to Seal Island.

Not too far away, stop for photos at the world-famous Chapman's Peak Drive. Marvel at this road engineering feat as you wind over the edge of the mountains. This spectacular drive is not for the faint-hearted.

Arrive at the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve before midday. Discover the rich vegetation of the Cape, European explorers' history, maritime history, and, if you're lucky, you might have a mini safari.

Reach the most south western point of the African continent, the Cape of Good Hope, and take a photo with the famous signboard. Carry on to Cape Point and take a short walk for 15 minutes up to a historic lighthouse, or take a funicular at your own expense if you are not in the mood for walking.

Stop for lunch and walk to see the old colonial-protected British buildings in Simon's Town before heading to meet the endangered African penguins at Boulders Beach. Spend about 45-60 minutes at the penguin colony before you head back to Cape Town along the coastline.

Discover Kalk Bay and Muizenberg Beach, the surfer’s paradise.
