Your safari starts with a scenic drive to Musanze for a canoeing experience, enjoy breathtaking views of the lush green shorelines and virunga mountains as you paddle along the Mukungwa river. have lunch and check in to your accommodation, proceed with a visit at the Ellen DeGeneres Campus in the afternoon to learn about the Gorilla conservation efforts and lifestyle, which will increase your excitement for the Gorilla trekking experience.
Day 2 starts with an early pick up for the Gorilla trekking experience, where you will head to the Volcanoes National Park’s headquarters for briefing and group allocation, now it’s time to start the most adventurous and exhilarating trek, once located, You are allowed to spend one hour with the gorillas in their natural habitat, as you watch them play, feed and interact with their family group. Trek back to base and enjoy a restful afternoon.
Begin your day with an early golden monkey trekking experience in the Volcanoes National Park ,once located, You are allowed to interact with them for one hour, witnessing their behavior up close. Thereafter, have lunch and embark on a scenic drive to Akagera national park, upon your arrival,enjoy a sunset boat tour on lake Ihema, where you will get the chance to spot animals like hippopotamus, crocodiles, different types of birds and elephants or some antelopes frequenting the shores, you will then be transferred to your accommodation inside the park.
Start day 4 with an early game drive to explore stunning landscapes of the park for almost a full day giving you time to observe various animal species including the big five: lions, elephants, buffaloes, leopards and rhino, after the game drive, you will be transferred back to Kigali for an overnight stay.
Day 5 begin with a visit to the kigali genocide memorial that provides an insight on Rwanda’s 1994 genocide history and resilience. you will then have the opportunity to visit craft shops and explore Kigali’s bustling local markets, such as kimironko market before lunch. proceed with a recreational visit at fazenda sengha, a beautiful country club located on the tallest mountain in Kigali, offering best views of the city, with activities such as horse riding, quad biking, ziplining or archery. you will now be on your way to the airport for your departure.
