Begin your journey in central Rome, meeting your private driver and setting off in a comfortable, air-conditioned vehicle bound for southern Italy. The drive itself is a delight, with scenic countryside unfolding as you approach the ancient ruins of Pompeii.
Arriving early, you’ll skip the long lines and meet a professional archaeologist who has spent years studying this fascinating site. As you walk through ancient streets, your guide will bring the city to life, explaining how its bustling shops, bathhouses, and villas were frozen in time by the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 AD. You’ll also see the famous plaster casts that offer a moving glimpse into the city’s final moments.
After the visit, continue along the Amalfi Coast, one of Italy’s most breathtaking drives. Enjoy the freedom of private travel as your driver handles the winding roads and you focus on the jaw-dropping views of cliffs and turquoise waters.
In high season (April-October), your destination is Positano, a postcard-perfect coastal village where vibrant houses spill down toward the sea. Your day concludes with a relaxing return to Rome, arriving in time for dinner.
Please arrive 15 minutes prior to the start of your tour, your guide will be holding a green Walks sign. This tour meets at Piazzale Flaminio, 15, 00196 Roma RM, in front of the McDonald's Restaurant on the corner of the square. The closest Metro stop is Flaminio - Metro Line A.

Luggage and/or strollers are not allowed on this tour as there is no extra storage space on the vehicle.

Your guide will provide lunch recommendations once you reach the Amalfi coast for lunch on your own (not included in the tour price).
We encourage a swim on the beach in Positano during your free time should the weather be nice. If you are so inclined, please bring a bathing suit and towel.
Should any part of this tour be closed, we may need to make modifications to the itinerary.

Please note: In the low season (November through March), most of the businesses in Positano town close, making the town rather uneventful to visit. During this time, we will visit Sorrento instead, where you'll have plenty of options for lunch and shopping.
