About the Park:
The Hurulu Eco Park in Habarana is part of the Hurulu Forest Reserve, and lies alongside several other reserves and national parks (including Kaudulla and Minneriya). Spanning over 10,000 hectares, the park includes dry evergreen forests, waterways, rich grasslands and abandoned cultivation lands. Some cultivation lands within the reserve area are still in use by farmers who use shifting cultivation and has resulted in the occasional human-elephant conflict.
