Stop 1

Pickup between 6.30 and 7 a.m. from the hotel.
From San Pedro de Atacama we leave early in the morning, heading towards the south of the
oasis, we continue through the basin of the Gran Salar de Atacama, and we head to the Reserve
Flamenco National Soncor sector (Laguna Chaxa), where we will visit an area of reproduction and nesting (spring – summer) of flamingos that live in Chile.

From the lagoons we continue towards the Salar de Aguas Calientes, and then to the Salar de
Talar, where we will visit the impressive rock formations known as “Piedras
Red”. The views of the salt flat are impressive. From here we return to San Pedro.
During the trip a height of approximately 4,200 meters above sea level is reached. Return
at approximately 5:45 p.m. to San Pedro de Atacama, ending at the parking lot
Municipal located 1 ½ block from the Plaza.
(Note: the order in which the different attractions of this excursion are visited may
vary according to weather conditions and park availability.)

Then we continue entering the Andes Mountains towards the Puna. During the trip it is possible to observe the numerous volcanoes of almost 6,000 meters above sea level. like Simba or Aguas Calientes (5,930 meters above sea level), the Pili or Acamarachi (6,050 meters above sea level) and the active Lascar. Their summits accompany us as lookouts along the way, offering a beautiful spectacle, until reach the Miscanti and Meñiques Altiplanic Lagoons, where the Cerro del same name.
