Nicknamed The Gateway to the Desert, Or Hollywood of Africa, Ouarzazate is an important vacation destination in Morocco, as a base for excursions through the Draa Valley and into the desert.
The fortified village (ksar) of Ait Benhaddou to the west of the city is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Built in 1928, Ouarzazate has grown from a stopover town to a destination in its own right. It is filled with sumptuous ocher clay buildings, the most famous of which are the Kasbah of Taourirt, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Tiffoultoute, Film studios, and museums.

Ait ben haddou is one of the many kasbahs that were once stopped for caravan travellers under the authority of Bacha El glaoui.

You will be in this kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou for two hours, one to visit the kasbah and one hour for lunch.
