This park is one of the oldest in Almaty, where the Holy Ascension Cathedral is located (Almaty's oldest standing cathedral ), which is the most iconic building in the city. In the park you will also see the WW II memorial and Afghanistan War memorial, dedicated to the memory of fighters who died for the freedom and independence of the country
Next stop will be Zelenyi Bazar (Green Bazar). Historically speaking this bazar attracted town folks for grocery shopping, trade, and town gossip. Today, Green Bazar is a must place to visit in Almaty. Fresh produce, authentic Kazakh dishes, dried fruit, and of course meat are only few reasons to experience this authentic place
Arbat Street is Almaty’s main shopping street which is best explored by foot. While walking down, you can spot a diversity of shopping areas & restaurants. To make it more beautiful, Arbat street is lined up with fountains sculpture expositions. Local artists and craftsmen sell their masterpieces.
Panfilov street is another gorgeous pedestrian street that will help you dive into a true Almaty sprite. While passing through, you will be introduced to a Soviet Era architecture masterpieces. Opera and Ballet Theater will be the ending point of your trip. Abai Theater is located on Kabanbai Batyr st. which is also called the Broadway Street of Almaty due to its central location, cultural significance, cozy restaurants.
