A visit to the DR capital is a must for serious travelers who don't come to DR just to enjoy the beach in an all-inclusive resort. Plan a stay of at least two nights to see the city correctly. It is the largest city in the entire Caribbean, along with Havana.

The Alcazar de Colon is the oldest royal residence in all of America. It is a two-storey building facing the Ozama River with panoramic views of the river and the Columbus Lighthouse.
