The town of Taravao is also the gateway to the peninsula of Tahiti, or "Tahiti Iti". From there, you will have the impression of visiting a different island, the landscape becoming greener.

After having lived the Teahupoo experience, if the weather allows it, your Captain/ guide will make you discover the less visited part of the island of Tahiti, the "Fenua Aihere", accessible only by boat. The landscape is more wild and authentic with the impression that the peaks throw directly into the lagoon. After 15 minutes of boating, you will make a snorkeling stop while enjoying a beautiful setting. Then, your boat anchored in the river of "Vaiau", you can enjoy a very special freshwater bath but you will also have the opportunity to go ashore to visit a forest of "Mape" or Tahitian chestnut. All this, with explanation of course.
