About this experience

Discover the historical sights in Armenia. Learn about local culture and religion at three monasteries, visit Hagpati and Sanahin, and the old monastery of Akhtala is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Hagpati and Sanahini monasteries are closely connected and are 40 minutes away from each other. Legend has it that both monasteries were built by father and son masons, Sanahin was built earlier by his father. The name says it all: Sanahin literally means "he is older than others". We will also get to know traditional Armenian cuisine, where we will be hosted by a traditional Armenian family.

Haghpat Monastery, founded by Queen Khosrovanush (wife of King Ashot III of Armenia) in 976. It consists of one narthex, two corridors-tombs, a refectory, a scriptorium, a Hamazasp chapel, a bell tower, several chapels. Tombs and crosses (khachkars).

Noah's Land offers a tour of the Sanahin and Akhtala monasteries in the Lori district of Armenia, which date back to the 10th century. Sanahin was the administrative center and family tomb of the Kurikian Bagratids (10th and 11th centuries), as well as the episcopal residence of the diocese (until the 11th century).

The territory of Akhtali dates back to BC. It dates back to the VIII century. The historical settlement of Akhtali was known as Agaraki in the 5th century. The etymology of the name Akhtali is believed to be of Turkish origin, meaning white gate. Phhindzahank literally means copper mine.
The partially destroyed Akhtali fortress was built on the foundation of the Bronze and Iron Age at the end of the 10th century by the Kyurikids.
