After an early breakfast, the driver will pick you up at your hotel and start your beautiful journey to the most famous national park in the world, the Serengeti. The driving itself, although long, is spectacular. This will be an unforgettable moment for anyone seeing it for the first time. As you progress well in the Serengeti you will see why the name means, in the local language, “endless plains”. The park has 6,900 sq miles (18,000 sq km) and for most of it, the plains will stretch to the horizon, defying your senses and perception of distances.
It is the home of the great migration of over 2 million wildebeests, hundreds of thousands of zebras, and all kinds of antelopes. As for the big cats and large predators, it is the place of choice to look out for lions, cheetahs, leopards, and hyenas with many television scenes like the famous river crossing that have been filmed in this park. After the game drive, you will drive to your booked accommodation for dinner and overnight.
On this day we suggest a very early wake-up in order to do an early morning game drive (the animals are more active) and see one of the best sunrises you will ever witness.
After the morning game drive, you will return to the camp for a rewarding brunch. You will pack your things, and proceed with the game drive exiting Serengeti National Park. Lunch will be served. After lunch, you will proceed with the game drive while heading to Ngorongoro, where you will have dinner and overnight at Ngorongoro Oldeani Mountain Lodge.
Note: You can do an early morning balloon safari at an extra cost.
You will start the day very early and descend into the crater floor for an incredible morning of wildlife in one of the most stunning places on Earth. Due to its dense animal population of approximately 25 000, the crater offers the best game viewing of all the parks in Tanzania. In a matter of minutes, you will be able to see wildebeest, eland, lions, zebras, gazelles, elephants, blue monkeys, and some of the more than 500 bird species in the area. With a little bit of luck, you might catch a glimpse of the endangered black rhino.
After the game drive you will have a picnic lunch near the beautiful hippo lake. After lunch, you will proceed with a short game drive and then ascend the crater and exit Ngorongoro Conservation Area and head back to Arusha.
