You'll be up close and personal with the characters you saw in the movie! You'll get a sense of how a movie is made. There will also be screenings of short animated films that you won't see at regular movie theaters. There are also many souvenirs exclusive to the museum, so you can get your hands on some rare items. Unfortunately, the interior of the museum is mostly written in Japanese, but an English guide will guide you around while explaining things, so you won't miss any information. Children under 12 can also play on the famous Cat Bus(neko bus), making for a memorable experience.

Detailed itinerary

1
Stop 1

The journey from the station to the museum passes through a quiet park where you can feel the natural beauty of the four seasons. Your guide will explain the park to you as you head to the museum.

2
Stop 2

After entering the museum, 30-minute English-language guided tour. The guide ends here, but there’s no set end time. Enjoy your time here, including visiting the cute cafe and souvenir shop, until closing time at 6:00 pm.

Tickets to the Ghibli Museum are extremely difficult for foreign visitors to Japan to obtain. Even if you manage to visit, there are no translated versions of the artworks. Photography is also prohibited inside the museum, so the translation function is unavailable. That’s why we recommend joining this English-language guided tour.

Since the ticket is not a resale ticket, there’s no need to worry about being denied entry.
