About this experience
You’re looking for a truly authentic Mexico City local experience—so we take you beyond the tourist center and into Iztapalapa, the city’s most populous borough, where daily life, street food, and community culture feel refreshingly real.
We’ll meet in Downtown Mexico City at the Palacio de Bellas Artes, then ride the Mexico City Metro toward the suburbs. Our first stop is a local museum to understand Iztapalapa’s roots and its iconic Holy Week tradition before we go for the main event.
Next, we “fly” above the city on Cable car Line 2, a Guinness World Records holder for the longest public transit cable car route, delivering panoramic views of the Valley of Mexico and a front-row seat to the neighborhood’s colorful street art.
Between rides, we’ll stop at a local market for a taco break (no tourist traps), and we’ll finish back Downtown with a toast of pulque, a traditional pre-Hispanic drink—because this is the kind of CDMX story you’ll actually brag about later.

We will begin our journey through the Mexico City subway at this station, which is one of the most important subway systems in the world.

With a length of 10.6 km, Cablebús Line 2 holds the Guinness Record as the longest cable car in the world. Located in the Iztapalapa municipality, it makes up to 75 thousand daily trips from Constitución de 1917 to Santa Marta. It was inaugurated on August 8, 2021 and reduces the transfer time from 1 hour and 20 minutes to just 40 minutes.
