Stroll down to the Sydney Opera House and make your way into the Joan Sutherland Theatre for a relaxed 90‑minute concert of opera favourites performed by some of Opera Australia’s finest singers, accompanied by piano. It's a bucket‑list experience, with excellent views and acoustics throughout the theatre. The atmosphere is welcoming and informal, making it a great choice for both opera fans and newcomers. The pianist acts as a charming host, introducing each piece with context and humour, ensuring an engaging and beginner‑friendly experience. English and Simplified Chinese surtitles are projected above the stage for ease of understanding. The concert runs for approximately 90 minutes, including one 20‑minute interval, allowing you to enjoy a drink or the harbour views during the break.

A number of spaces are available for wheelchairs in each theatre at the Sydney Opera House. Wheelchairs are available from the Stage Door for use by patrons free of charge. Wheelchair access is by ramp from the southern entrance of the Concourse. Undercover wheelchair access is available from Stage Door and the Sydney Opera House Car Park. It is essential that you specify any needs when proceeding with your booking.

Dogs or any animals trained to assist people with disabilities are welcome inside all theatres and restaurants.

Audio receivers: FM receivers can be collected from the cloakroom prior to the performance. These are provided with headphones or personal induction loop.

Important notes

Printing your voucher will not be necessary.

Please arrive early to avoid rushing. Ushers will close the doors at show time and latecomers will not be let in until a suitable pause in the performance. While it is fun to dress up for the opera, there is no mandatory dress code; an extra layer is advised because it can get cold in the theater.
