Just 19 kilometers off the southern coast of the Dominican Republic, Isla Saona is one of the country’s most visited natural destinations. Covering 110 km², this protected paradise is part of Cotubanamá National Park and offers an unforgettable tropical setting. Endless white-sand beaches, towering coconut palms, and crystal-clear turquoise waters create a perfect escape into Caribbean nature.

A stop is made at the natural swimming pool of Playa Palmilla, located approximately 200–300 meters from the shoreline. The shallow waters, reaching knee to waist level, offer the perfect setting to relax and enjoy the tropical climate. This unique area stretches for nearly 800 meters parallel to the coast, where white sandy bottoms meet a vast coral terrace that separates the pool from the open sea, creating this remarkable natural formation.
