Meet your guide In front of Fischbrötchen Manufaktur, Bei den St. Pauli-Landungsbrücken 4, 20359 Hamburg, Germany. Please wait on the righr side from the restaurant door.
Your adventure begins at the Jan Fedder Promenade, which runs along the busy Elbe harbor. During the 1-hour introductory tour, your Private Guide will share interesting facts about Hamburg’s involvement in war as one of Germany’s most significant industrial centers.
Learn about the air raids, codenamed Operation Gomorrah, that devastated much of the city and the harbor and see highlights such as the Landungsbrücken, Pegeltrum (water level tower) and the Elbe Tunnel.
The war-themed tour will end at St Pauli Fish Market, where you will find a moored U–434 submarine which now operates as the U-Boot Museum. We provide tickets for a 1-hour guided tour of this monumental Soviet-built warship, during which you will learn about its role in espionage in the waters of the US coast during the Cold War era.Enter the cramped space to explore the crew's living quarters, the officers' mess and the engine and torpedo rooms. Although the submarine had to be ‘demilitarized’ by the Russian navy before it could be turned into the unique museum it is today, much of the interior is in its original state. You will never forget this claustrophobic experience!
Enjoy a convenient round-trip transfer between the meeting point and your Hamburg accommodation. We will organize a private driver and a clean, air-conditioned car for your pickup and drop-off. This solution is perfect for those who do not know the city well and want to avoid using public transport. Make your sightseeing easier!
