If you like history and want to know how Myrtle Beach was in the beginning and specifically during the years of the second world war, this trolley tour may interest you. It shares the city's origin story and tells what it was like to live there during WWII with U-boat threats off the coast and the arrival of German POWs. It makes stops at Myrtle Beach's first golf course, Pine Lakes International Country Club, and the Historic Myrtle Beach Colored School Museum. Guests gather in front of the Grand 14 Theater at The Market Common to begin boarding at 9:45 AM. The trolley is enclosed and climate-controlled. If you would like more of an introduction to the city's history, you may enjoy the Myrtle Beach History, Movies and Music trolley tour. Both tours were created to compliment each other in order to give guests a more comprehensive look at Myrtle Beach's past. GUESTS MUST BE AT LEAST 3 YEARS OLD FOR THIS TOUR. It is best that you book prior to the Monday before your desired tour.
Our first stop will be at one of Myrtle Beach's oldest and most beautiful locations, the Pines Lakes International Country Club. Restrooms will be available for your convenience.
Our second stop will be at The Historic Myrtle Beach Colored School Museum. A recreation of the original school that was once located across the street from it, the museum conveys the history of education in Myrtle Beach for African-Americans from the 1930s to the 1960s.
Meet at The Market Common (beside the airport between Hwy. 17 Bypass and Hwy. 17 Business also known as Kings Hwy.) in front of the Grand 14 Cinemas
Please arrive by 9:50 AM to check in and pre-select your trolley seat from a seating chart. In order to maintain social distancing, everyone will board at the same time in the order of the seats they selected. Those who chose seats in the back will board first and exit last at each stop.
