We begin the journey towards 2 of the Vinho Verde sub-regions (Amarante and Sousa), where the richness of the landscapes, the settings and experiences are well expressed in their wines, each time with more character and great personality.
Fairs and markets, festivals and pilgrimages, meeting places, local histories transmitted orally, the richness and antiquity of traditional arts and crafts, shared agricultural work, popular architecture are authentic expressions of a traditional way of life, still very much alive in the people of this Earth. And it is this cultural legacy that marks Vinho Verde and that we will discover on this trip to the Tâmega e Sousa Valley.
We introduce this tour with a visit to the historic center of the beautiful city of Amarante.
Descending towards the Sousa valley, crossing paths from the Romanesque, we make the first stop, at a Vinho Verde production farm, for a visit and commented tasting.
We strengthen our soul with lunch in a traditional restaurant in the region, where the flavors of the region will be harmonized with the famous Vinho Verde.
In the afternoon, we continue to visit a second farm producing Vinho Verde, with a visit and wine tasting, surrounded by the immensity of green on the horizon.
