Detailed itinerary

Stop 1

Your local guide will pick up you from your hotel lobby at your desired time in the morning. Then you will follow BBC Rick Stein’s footsteps to taste Shanghai.
First, you will go to the Yuyuan bazaar, which is the old Ming and Qing dynasty architecture market, with various of souvenir shops and restaurants where you can enjoy your time there shopping and taking photos. You will have chance to taste some of the famous snack in the markets if you are interests, such as the spring roll, Big soup dumplings. Famous Yu Garden is just right next to the bazaar, if you want to have a visit, please let your guide know (Yuyuan garden close on Monday).

Stop 2

After your morning tour, your guide will take you to a nice local restaurant where you can enjoy some well-known local food, such as Xiao Long Bao (soup dumpling) and Chairman Mao's favorite dish Hong Shao Rou (Braised pork in brown sauce). Xiao Long Bao is a characteristic of Shanghai cuisine, with over hundred years of history. Pork minced “Xiao Longs” are the most classical ones and once it comes to right season, you can also try the crab-meat one.

Stop 3

In the afternoon, you will visit Shanghai Tower the tallest building in China (the 2nd tallest in the world). The observatory of “Shanghai Tower” is with the height of 632 meters, and you can have a panoramic view of the whole city with 360 degrees dimension at the “airborne city “and “city’s smart eyes”. It is really unique experience on the top and is the best choice for enjoying damper, the high-tech achievement.

After that, you will you will enjoy a relaxing river cruise ride on the mother river of Shanghai - Huangpu River. You will have a glimpse of Shanghai’s past and look into the bright future of the city from Riverside Promenade area. Your cruise offers a great view of the grand colonial buildings along west side of the Bund, such as the famous Peace hotel, Shanghai Pudong Development Bank and etc.. Turn towards east side, you will see the skyscrapers of shanghai, like Oriental Pearl TV Tower, World Financial Center, and Shanghai Tower. If you choose the afternoon departure,you will enjoy the prosperous lights, which will lights up your whole trip.
