About this experience

Tây-Ninh, near the Cambodian border, is home to the unique Cao Dai sect, whose patron saints include Joan of Arc, Victor Hugo and Winston Churchill to name a few. The religion is a hybrid of Buddhism, Taoism, Confucianism and Christianity. The Cao Dai Temple at Tây-Ninh has been described as a Walt Disney fantasia of the East. The temple's exterior is decorated with multi-colored dragons of all shapes and sizes competing for space with a number of swastikas. Above the main entrance is the all-seeing holy eye, the symbol of the Cao Dai sect. The interior is just as engaging as statues of Jesus Christ, Buddha and the Hindu god, Brahma, stand side by side.

Next, visit the extraordinary Cao Dai Temple in Tay Ninh, often described as a “Walt Disney fantasia of the East.” Its exterior dazzles with bright colors, where multi-shaped dragons twist around columns and sacred symbols decorate every corner. Above the main entrance, the striking image of the all-seeing holy eye represents the unity of the Cao Dai faith. Inside, the temple is just as fascinating: statues of Jesus Christ, Buddha, and the Hindu god Brahma stand side by side, reflecting the religion’s unique blend of beliefs. The vibrant mix of colors, elaborate architecture, and spiritual atmosphere create a setting that feels both beautiful and surreal to Western visitors. A highlight not to be missed is the midday service, when hundreds of worshippers in white robes gather in prayer, offering a moving and unforgettable glimpse into the rituals of this remarkable faith.

Stop 4

After lunch, continue to the legendary Cu Chi Tunnels, one of Vietnam’s must-visit historic sites. This vast underground network once played a crucial role in the Vietnam War, showcasing the ingenuity of guerrilla warfare. Discover the smart design of trap doors, hidden entrances, and living chambers that allowed thousands of fighters to survive bombings and remain undetected. Despite heavy attacks, including 30-ton B-52 bombs, the area resisted capture by 30,000 U.S. troops. Here, you’ll have the unique chance to crawl through a section of the 121-kilometer tunnel system, experiencing firsthand the resilience and determination of the Vietnamese. Learn how guerrillas concealed smoke from their cooking, adapted to life underground for days, and turned the jungle into a stronghold. The day ends as we return to Ho Chi Minh City around 6:00–7:00 PM, concluding an unforgettable journey of history and adventure.
