After enjoying an early breakfast, we will drive north of Addis on the highway towards Bahir Dar. Our first stop will be the remarkable Debre Libanos Monastery, which was established in the 13th century by Abune Tekle Haymanot. Perched above the Jema River Gorge, a tributary of the Blue Nile, this monastery is home to a wealth of ecclesiastical, cultural, and historical artifacts. As you explore the grounds, keep an eye out for the diverse bird species and playful baboons that call this area home.

Additionally, you will have the opportunity to cross the Portuguese Bridge, affectionately known as the Egg Bridge, located just below the monastery.

During our journey, we will also make stops at traditional Oromo villages, allowing you to immerse yourself in the local culture and witness the daily lives of the villagers. If you're interested, we can arrange short visits to local farmers' houses, where you can experience rural tourism firsthand. You may even have the chance to feed the baboons and partake in other local farming activities.
