Bagrati Cathedral was built in the 11th century, and despite being attacked and destroyed twice, it stands strong, showing the resilience of the Georgian spirit. Along with being a significant religious site, Bagrati has stunning views over Kutaisi and the mountains.
Meet the river Rioni, mentioned several times in ancient Greek philosophy, which originates in the Caucasus mountains and joins the black sea. Rioni is a very unpredictable and sometimes aggressive river, so there a few water dams, on this tour we will see one of them.
Colchis Fountain is located in the city center of Kutaisi, it is a beautiful fountain with golden statues and marbles.
