About this experience

What makes a day at The Pink Mango special is that it feels real. There is nothing else like it in Cartagena. It has the soul of a traditional beach shack, but with top-level food, excellent quality and fair prices, without pretence.

Being just minutes from the city gives a rare flexibility and an easy, unforced rhythm to the day. The beach is large, open and full of life. Locals come and go, creating an authentic atmosphere that makes it a pleasure to sit back and watch the world pass by.

An experienced team, a serious but low-key commitment to sustainability, great cocktails and outstanding food all come together naturally. The Pink Mango is honest, relaxed and distinctive. A place to eat exceptionally well with your feet in the sand.

Detailed itinerary

1

Enjoy an authentic beach day on Isla Tierra Bomba, just 10 minutes from Cartagena.

Departing from the beach behind the Nuevo Hospital de Bocagrande, (no port tax applies here), you will kick off your shoes and board a small boat for a short trip to Tierra Bomba island, arriving at The Pink Mango within 10 minutes.

When you arrive, choose a spot at beach shack right on the water's edge, the garden, or the pool - all with fabulous sea views.

We're laid back but our team are super pro. Expect afro-caribbean music, ice-cold drinks and food that will really surprise you.

Our kitchen is led by chef Pedro Mosqueda, trained in Michelin-starred kitchens in New York. Together with Portia Hart, the founder of Blue Apple Beach, their shared commitment is to deliver a high-quality beach day in an authentic, relaxed setting at a fair price.

Boats are at 9.30am and 10.30am, returning at 4pm. For groups of 4 or more, a private boat can be arranged at no extra cost.

Our top tip is to take an Uber to Hospital Nuevo de Bocagrande. It's about 15-20 minutes from the Walled City. The beach is right behind and the taxi drivers all know where you're going. Our team will be looking out for you. and will know your name - don't get in a boat with anyone who doesn't!
