Your day begins with a private pick-up in Bratislava at your hotel or chosen address. Sit back in a comfortable vehicle with our private and experienced driver, as your driver takes you across the Slovak–Austrian border on a scenic journey of about one hour. You will arrive in the Austrian capital Vienna, a city famous for its imperial history, music, and architecture.
Upon arrival, you will meet your private local guide and begin a 3-hour walking tour through Vienna’s historic center, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The walking tour starts at the Vienna State Opera House, one of the most beautiful opera houses in the world and home of the famous Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra. From here, you will stroll along the Ringstrasse Boulevard, where your guide will point out the impressive Austrian Parliament Building, inspired by ancient Greek architecture, and the striking City Hall (Rathaus), a masterpiece of Gothic Revival style. Just across stands the Burgtheater, Austria’s national theatre and one of the most prestigious stages in Europe.
Your walk continues into the grand courtyard of the Hofburg Imperial Palace, once the residence of the Habsburg dynasty. Here you will hear fascinating stories about Empress Sisi and the centuries-long rule of the Austrian emperors. From the Hofburg, you will pass elegant squares and palaces before reaching the heart of Vienna’s Old Town.
In the pedestrian zone, your guide will lead you to Graben Street, lined with elegant shops and cafés, and the famous Plague Column, a richly decorated Baroque monument built in gratitude for the end of the Great Plague. The highlight of the Old Town is St. Stephen’s Cathedral, Vienna’s most iconic landmark, with its colorful tiled roof and Gothic towers. Your guide will share the history of the cathedral and explain its role in the life of the city.
After the walking tour, you will have free time to explore Vienna at your own pace and take lunch/dinner. Your guide will provide tips and recommendations based on your interests.
In the late afternoon, your driver will meet you at the agreed location for the private transfer back to Bratislava. You will return to your hotel in the evening after a full day of exploring Vienna’s history, culture, and charm.
