From your accommodation in Quito, we will travel by car for approximately 2h30min until we reach the park entrance. During the journey and with favorable weather, we will observe representative volcanoes such as Illinizas, Cotopaxi and Tungurahua.
We will check in and prepare to visit the Mariscal Sucre Interpretation Center at 3,600 meters above sea level, where we will learn about the history of the Cotopaxi volcano, plants, animals and geographical data of the place. In addition, we will take advantage of the place to acclimatize for the next visit.
We will begin our visit with a walk through the lagoon, where we will see animals such as the paramo wolf, the curiquingue and plants such as the chuquiragua. Afterwards, we will go to the José Rivas refuge, which is at 4,864 meters above sea level. There we will take a walk of approximately 1h30min (optional) where we will be able to observe the extensive areas of paramo formations. In addition, we will take the opportunity to have our Box Lunch.
Once ready, we will begin our trip to the city of Baños de Agua Santa. On the way, depending on the weather conditions, we will observe the Chimborazo and Tungurahua volcanoes. Upon arrival you will be dropped off at our office or at your hotel in Baños within the city.
