About this experience

This unique day tour invites you to discover a second country during your holiday in North-Macedonia, Albania (the once closed communistic country). Discover the striking differences and surprising similarities between these two Balkan countries.

Travel comfortably by bus or minibus as you enjoy a complete scenic tour around Lake Ohrid, one of the most beautiful lakes in Europe. Along the way, you’ll stop at iconic and charming locations including the Bay of Bones, Pogradec, Lin, and Drilon.

In Pogradec, enjoy free time to relax and have lunch at your own pace. In the picturesque village of Lin, take a coffee break and stroll through narrow streets lined with traditional houses.
For those who wish, there is an optional guided walk to the ancient Roman basilica—highly recommended for history lovers and photographers alike.
During the journey, you’ll also spot the famous concrete communist-era bunkers, silent reminders of Albania’s past, scattered across the landscape.

Detailed itinerary

1

Photo stop Bay of Bones.

2

In Drilon, we will have a short coffee break and enjoy the astonishing nature, which closely resembles the water sources of St. Naum. You will have some free time to relax, enjoy a coffee, take a walk around the natural reservoir, and take photos.

3

In Pogradec, you will be dropped off in front of Hotel Enkelana. You will have free time to enjoy the town and have lunch. You can visit the local marketplace, the town park where you'll encounter the patriarchal way of life in Albania, and the boulevard famous for its street tiles and statues. You may also go shopping, sightseeing, or simply enjoy a relaxing walk.
During free time, walk around this small lake town and discover the beauty and authenticity of this place. Feel free to shop, sightsee or having a tasty lunch.

4

When entering the village of Lin, the guided tour will start. Our guide will explain about the traditional village life and explain characteristics of the buildings and it's inhabitants. Furthermore, you will have the option to walk until you reach the Roman Basilic, which we highly recommend.
