EK BALAM
The city of Ek Balam dates back over a thousand years and was one of the main capitals of the Mayan world. Founded by a character named Ek Balam, hence its name around 300 B.C. Its main ruler, Ukit Kan Lek Tok, gave it its splendor by commissioning buildings with murals and facades with impressive details that still endure today, such as those of his tomb in the main building. Enjoy the magnificent view from the top of its main building and live a unique experience.

CULTURAL STOP AND BUFFET MEAL:
After touring the archaeological site, we make a cultural stop where you will appreciate handicrafts in the stone workshop, watching the artisan create them. You will taste handmade corn tortillas prepared by Mayan women, enjoy Xtabentún — a traditional regional drink — and receive a blessing from a Mayan shaman. Here, you will savor a delicious buffet featuring a variety of regional Mexican dishes in the Yucatán style.

3

SWIM IN THE MAYAN CENOTE
To end this incredible adventure, you will enjoy a refreshing swim in an ancient cenote. These were and are water sources for the villages in the region. Recharge your energy in this mystical place. In this impressive cenote, you can enjoy the extreme with its breathtaking rappel, where you will descend into the interior if you choose to live this adventure. Once inside, you will have fun with the zip line and vines, or if you prefer, just relax floating in its refreshing waters.

4

One of the highlights to enjoy is the wonderful colonial city of Valladolid. There, our guides will tell you about the city’s rich history and take you to visit the 16th-century San Servacio Cathedral, which holds great historical significance.
