Join us for a true Buffalo Safari adventure just a drive by.
Set off on an epic Buffalo Safari with your guide in search of the American Bison located on the last mountain range to be mapped in the lower 48 contiguous states, the remote Henry Mountains! One of only three free-roaming and genetically purebred bison herds found on public lands in the United States.
The safari departs Torrey, Utah where guests will drive following the guide to the trailhead. This drive in your own vehicle is 30 minutes. At the trailhead, guests will then be with the guide on our amazing UTV’s.
We make your way to the high elevations of the rugged and previously named “unknown mountains.” Extensive hiking atop ridgelines with elevations of 9,000 to over 11,000 feet are to be expected. Your experienced guides provide binoculars for each client as we glass the hillsides overlooking Capitol Reef National Park to the West and Canyonlands National Park to the East.
Polaris UTV (2, 4 or 6 seats)<br/>Pickup included
Upon departure we enter the boundaries of Capitol Reef National Park and will continue a scenic drive with a couple short stops.
The south district of Capitol Reef National Park or Waterpocket Fold district encompasses the largest defining feature in the park and most visitors have no idea what it is. The nearly 100 mile long monocline is the longest in the western hemisphere. This “step-up” or warp in the rock layers showcase dramatic geological formations that must be seen to appreciate.
Just east of the junction of highway 12 and 24 is a log archway and sign to Skyridge Inn and Capitol Reef Outfitters. Drive down the short gravel road a few hundred feet to our parking lot.
Please have your confirmation ready upon meeting your guide or arriving at our office!
