Discover the historic Theosophist community of Krotona and the Grand Temple of the Rosy Cross, once home to spiritual leader J.D. Krishnamurti and later a retreat for notable Theosophists like Charlie Chaplin and Mary Astor.

(This portion of the tour includes a moderate climb up the Krotona Flight stairs, followed by a brief walk up the hill to the hidden Temple.)

The Vedanta Society of the Ramakrishna Order serves as a pioneering bridge between East and West, inspired by one of India’s great spiritual leaders, Swami Vivekananda. Its iconic white, three-domed Vedanta Temple, established in 1938 overlooking Hollywood, along with the monastery and active educational center, has drawn renowned figures such as Gerald Heard, Alan Watts, and Aldous Huxley.

This cloistered Dominican monastery has been a cherished part of the Hollywood Hills since 1934, becoming the first in the U.S. to practice Perpetual Adoration of the Eucharist. For nearly a century, the nuns' continuous chants have echoed through the hills, creating a timeless spiritual presence.

Take in breathtaking, close-up views of the Hollywood Sign, Lake Hollywood, and the scenic hills. Discover the intriguing history of the Hollywood Cross and the mystical roots of the Hollywood Bowl.

We'll explore the grounds of the Philosophical Research Society, a center devoted to preserving and studying ancient wisdom, philosophy, and spiritual traditions from around the globe.
