Sanganer is located about 10 miles from Jaipur. It is known for its handmade paper, hand block printed textiles and blue pottery. On the way to Sanganer, you will drive past two of the four massive Tripolias (Triple Gateways) forming the entrances to the city. Sanganer also has magnificent palace ruins and Jain Temples, which are carved with amazing refinement.

You will be picked up from your hotel in Jaipur and driven to Sanganer in an air conditioned vehicle. Here, you can see the Sanganer Fort. It is mostly in ruins but it can still be visited for its delightful interiors. There are also Jain Temples in Sanganer. The beautiful Digamber Jain temple has complex carvings. It was built in the 10th century and is regarded as the abode of the idol of Parshwanath. Another interesting temple is the Sanga Baba Mandir, built in-between one of the tripolia gates.
Sanganer is an interesting destination to visit because it is a center for traditional arts and crafts. The Kagzi Mohallah community is famous for skilled artisans, who create exotic handmade paper that is sought after around the world. Also spread throughout the city are showrooms and factories of hand block printing and blue pottery. The Sanganer textiles with their hand printed designs and bright colors are well known and very popular. Sanganer prints are distinct due to their use of a wide range of colors on a white background. Another popular traditional art is Block Printing designs on fabrics. You will watch the artists create these beautiful wares and you will have an opportunity to purchase these unique designs.
