Barossa Valley - Maggie Beer Farm Regional Tour

The Whispering Wall is in fact the retaining wall of the Barossa Reservoir. Built between 1899 and 1903, the dam was a revolutionary engineering feat for its day and attracted attention from all over the world, even making its way into the pages of the journal Scientific American.

But what draws visitors to the Whispering Wall is its unique acoustic effects: words whispered at one side can be clearly heard at the other, more than 100 metres away. Children in particular love visiting the wall and testing its abilities.

Besides trying out the Whispering Wall, visitors can also learn about the history of the construction of the dam, take in the scenery of the water reserve and enjoy the colours and sounds of the peaceful bush setting.

Mengler Hill is a hill and popular lookout in the Barossa Range, South Australia. The hill was named after an early wine grower in the area. The Barossa Sculpture Park is sited at the base of the lookout area.

A family-run farm shop, café and gourmet food destination set on Maggie Beer’s original farm — the place where her famous food journey began over 40 years ago. It’s known for its warm, rural atmosphere with views over a dam, olive grove and plenty of birdlife.

Rusden Wines - Wine Tasting included

A visit to Rusden Wines in Vine Vale offers a warm and authentic Barossa Valley experience. Their cellar door, known as “The Den,” is a cozy space built around a restored 1880s wood-fired oven, blending rustic charm with a communal atmosphere. Guests can enjoy seated tastings of estate-grown wines, including the bold Black Guts Shiraz and the unique Chookshed Zinfandel, all crafted from old vines rooted in sandy soils. The Den also hosts intimate dinners featuring seasonal dishes cooked in the wood oven, paired with aged wines from their museum collection.
