Ella Train Journey is considered as one of the most beautiful train journeys in the world.
Due to the repair works of train track, now train starts from the Ambewela station. Which is located close to Nuwaraeliya.
It creates very beautifully, green scenery from the moment you start the journey till you reach the end. The train travels among the hill areas/mountains, tea estates, over the rivers & waterfalls, etc.
Train is operating daily and what you receive is the ticket from Ambewela to Ella with reserved seats (Seat number is printed on the ticket)
Tickets will be allocated from 2nd or 3rd class reserved coaches depending on the availability. There is no much difference between the two classes as both comes with openable windows where you can enjoy the best of the scenic journey.
Only the passengers with reserved seats are allowed to travel in this train and no standing passengers. Therefore train is not getting crowded as the ordinary coaches with unreserved seats.
Original Ticket will be delivered to your hotel on the previous day. Ticket will carry the seat numbers, departure time etc
