The Connemara day tour takes you to the wild west of Ireland. Experience its lakes, mountains and bogs where the traditions of yesteryear are still very much a part of daily life. We will meet in front of the Molly Malone Statue located on Suffolk Street. We will begin our exciting journey by crossing the west coast of Ireland toward Connemara. We will take an exceptionally scenic route towards Oughterard, which is considered to be the gateway into Connemara! While passing through charming little towns along the way, you will have the luxury of encountering views that are truly unmatched anywhere else across the land! Any signs or boundaries do not mark Connemara National Park; you will realize you have arrived from the breathtaking surroundings.
This tour includes boat cruise around Killary harbour. Ireland has only one fjord and we are heading straight for it – the Killary Fjord. Marvel at the thriving mussel beds and look out towards Mweelrea, the highest mountain range on the west coast of Ireland.
Our next stop is to Kylemore Abbey, said to be one of the most romantic castles in Ireland. Here you can get some photos of this amazing setting and relax for some lunch ( not included entrance to castle not included).
On your return to Dublin we will stop at one of Ireland’s best loved cities. Galway is young and bohemian attracting the weird and the wonderful from the four corners of Ireland and beyond. The streets are bustling with street performers and musicians which will keep you entertained during your time there.
We will arrive back in Dublin after an exciting and unforgettable journey discovering the savage beauty that is Connemara.
