Heidelberg Half-Day Trip from Frankfurt departs at 9:30am
Come with us for an excursion to Heidelberg, the romantic and beautiful old city at the banks of the river Neckar. Choose a morning or afternoon departure time.
We will reach Heidelberg in a 1,5 hours drive from Frankfurt.
Our first stop will be at the Heidelberg Castle ruins high above the valley and landmark of the city. The castle has been the residence of the mighty electors for a period of five hundred years and is an epitome of German Romanticism. We visit the large, impressing courtyard with its medieval residential buildings, the magnificent Renaissances facades and larger than life-size statues of the Friedrichs Building and the imposing Ottheinrichs Building.
From the large terrace you will enjoy a fantastic panorama view over historic Heidelberg. In the cellar vaults we show you the largest wooden wine barrels worldwide.
The second part of our trip is dedicated to the beautiful old city center: on a walking tour through the crooked alleyways to Karl’s Gate and the Old Bridge, the House of the Knights, again with an outstanding Renaissance façade, and to the Church of the Holy Spirit – to mention only some of the important sights. Heidelberg also hosts the oldest University of Germany.
There will be time for photo shooting and a private stroll.
Afterwards we will drive back to Frankfurt which takes approx. 1,5 hours
