If you love nature and unique experiences, this is the tour for you! Starting from Messina we will take you to visit the River Park and the Alcantara Gorges, famous for their impressive rock formations. After a hike through breathtaking nature, we will continue to Taormina, one of the island's historic gems, to explore its elegant soul, its picturesque streets and much more.
The journey begins in Messina, the ancient "gateway to Sicily". Driving along the scenic road that runs along the natural port in the shape of a sickle, we will head to two wonders of our territory: the Alcantara River Park with its Gorges and breathtaking views and Taormina, one of the most beautiful Sicilian villages, lively and modern with a style that combines its historical side with the most elegant.
Arrived at the Alcantara River Park will begin the adventure. The River Park was born from the meeting, thousands of years ago, between the lava of Etna and the cold waters of the Alcantara river, which gave life to the imposing basalt walls of the Alcantara Gorges, high and majestic, shaped into perfect geometric shapes by the force of nature.
Descending towards the canyon, the landscape changes: the silence becomes more intense, the air cooler, and the crystal clear water flows between the dark rocks creating suggestive reflections. It is a place that fascinates everyone especially those who want a moment of authentic wonder away from mass tourism.
Access to the gorges can be by public staircase or by panoramic elevator of the park (the cost may vary depending on the mode you choose).
For those who want a more dynamic experience, optional activities such as river trekking or body rafting are available (for a fee), always accompanied by specialized guides.
Your tour continues with the descent to the elegant Taormina. Crossing the historic arch of Porta Catania, we will immerse ourselves in the rich past of the city. We will explore the magnificent Greek Theatre (ticket not included), a masterpiece of ancient engineering famous for its breathtaking views of Mount Etna and the sea.
We will continue to the enchanting Florence Trevelyan Public Garden, a green oasis of exotic charm that belonged to an English noblewoman, linked to the court of Queen Victoria, who fled England because of a scandal that involved her.
Afterwards, walking along Corso Umberto, the main street and ancient decumanus, you will be surrounded by elegant boutiques, lively cafes, picturesque alleys and historic buildings that guard the true essence of the city.
Finally, we will reach by car an exclusive panoramic point, unique to admire and photograph from above the famous Isola Bella, leaving you an unforgettable memory of our beautiful land.
After the visit to Taormina, we will return to Messina. If you wish, you can be fascinated by the historic centre of the city and in particular the bell tower of the Duomo, which houses one of the largest and most complex mechanical and astronomical clocks in Europe.
At the end of the day we will take you back to the starting point with the hope of having given you a day full of emotions in company.
The meeting point will be at the cruise terminal, at the exit of Gate 5. There will be one of our drivers waiting for you with a sign with your name on it. Once together your tour will begin.
