The Tokyo Blind Spot Tour aims to shed light on an often unseen side of Tokyo. After all of this, you will feel like you have experienced more to Tokyo than most others ever will.
One of the key symbols of Ryogoku, the Kokugikan, or Sumo stadium, is a fixture of the Ryogoku Skyline. It is easily spotted from the train, and hosts the largest and most important Sumo championships. Built in 1985, the stadium boasts a very prominent look to it.
The former Yasuda gardens are a quiet place located in the center of Ryogoku. The pond is filled with fish and turtles that will happily swim up to greet you. An amazing piece of nature in an otherwise busy city.
Located on the grounds of the Former Yasuda Gardens, the Sword museum holds some of Japan's most prized and valuable swords. Not only does it have this prized collection, but you can also see the process for how they were, and still are, made. Truly a must see on any Japan trip.
The Yokoami park is dedicated to the biggest disasters that Tokyo faced, the Tokyo air raid and the Great Kanto Earthquake. The park features a memorial hall that honors those who died in these events. Next to this memorial hall is the Kanto Earthquake and Reconstruction museum. These sites of reverence will bring a new light onto your view of the city of Tokyo.
Hokusai, who famously painted one of Japan's most iconic wood block prints, the Hokusai Wave, once lived in the Sumida area. Even painting a famous Scroll of Scenery on Both Banks of the Sumida River. The art in this museum truly captures a time long past, and is moving even for those who are not fans of art museums.
After arriving at Ryogoku Station, please leave through the west exit. After exiting the station there will be a statue of a Sump wrestler immediately to your left. We will meet there.
