About this experience
Akasaka Palace was built between 1899 and 1909. It is also the first asset to be designated a national treasure after the Meiji Restoration. The Palace is as grand as Peter Hof, Hof burg, or Versailles. It is an ornate neo-baroque style building that used to serve as the primary residence for the crown prince. After World War 2, however, the building took on a new role as a state house for foreign dignitaries visiting Japan. We will head from the station to the grand Akasaka Palace. We will tour around the main gate area of the palace before heading into the palace gardens. After this we will have a chance to tour inside of the grand halls before getting to see the main lawn of the palace.
