Detailed itinerary

1

Stroll along America’s longest wooden footbridge and enjoy spectacular harbor views. We’ll discuss some of the theories about why this region is so haunted, starting with the Burnt Island Lighthouse at the harbor’s entrance with its long history of lighthouse keepers—some who never really left the island.

2

The skies over Boothbay are filled with UFOs! We’ll discuss multiple sightings over Adam’s Pond throughout the years.

3

Is the town’s newspaper office an example of a residual haunting or are the spirits at the Register still hard at work, even in death?

4

Originally built as a secret society lodge for the Knights of Pythias, the Opera House is considered by many to be the most haunted building in Maine. This internationally renowned music venue is filled with full-bodied apparitions and all manner of things that go bump in the night.

5

This old sea captain’s house-turned bar and restaurant has brought several of its owners more than they bargained for, including the old sea captain’s ghost and loads of poltergeist activity.

6

We discuss the tragic Indian Wars death and destruction that haunts this region. Legends swirl around Damariscove Island like its three ghosts. Is The first North American pirate Dixie Bull is said to have buried treasure in its bottomless pond.

7

A country music-loving Victorian ghost haunts the Welch House, a lovely former inn.

8

A mysterious stranger dressed all in black checked into the Hotel Fullerton and headed out for a glimpse of ocean surf. Her identity and untimely end are still unsolved mysteries almost 100 years later.

9

East Boothbay’s Reed Island is surrounded by shipwrecks. We wrap up our tour of the unexplained with a local’s story of a shipwrecked, party-crashing ghost.
